Speaking At the Career Counseling Session

One of the proudest moments of my involvement with Jinnah Medical College was speaking at a career counseling session organized by the institution. This event brought together medical students from all years and provided a platform for discussion about future pathways in medicine, both in Pakistan and internationally.

I shared my experiences, insights into different specialties, and practical advice about postgraduate training, licensing exams, and strategic planning. My goal was to help students think broadly about where their careers can take them, while still staying rooted in the values that Pakistan’s medical community upholds.

Being able to engage directly with students, answer their questions, and encourage them to pursue excellence was deeply rewarding. Their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn reminded me of why I chose this profession in the first place.

Mentorship has always been a central part of my career. Throughout my journey, from graduating in Pakistan to completing specialty training abroad, was fortunate to have mentors who guided and encouraged me. It is my firm belief that emerging doctors benefit immensely from support, whether it’s in understanding complex medical concepts or navigating the early stages of their careers.

At Jinnah Medical College, I have tried to bring that same spirit of mentorship. Whether through formal sessions or informal discussions with students, I emphasize maintaining curiosity, pursuing continuous learning, and adhering to ethical standards.
